Key Stage 2
Take your class on an Antarctic adventure – without leaving the classroom! Specially designed for Key Stage 2, these two ready-to-go lessons dive into the icy world of Antarctica, linking perfectly with the National Curriculum.
Lesson 1: Antarctic climate and adaptations
Your pupils will discover what makes the Antarctic biome so unique, and investigate the amazing ways plants and animals have adapted to survive in one of the harshest environments on Earth.
Lesson 2: Climate change
Students will explore how and why Antarctica is changing. They’ll examine the effects of climate change, what this means for Antarctica and how these changes impact the rest of the world. Plus, they’ll get to think like geographers or scientists as they explore potential solutions.
Both lessons come with a scheme of work, lesson plan, teacher presentation and supporting resources.
